This month has been filled with excitement. I’ve purchased my books, uniform and a standard Pastry knife kit, which included a series of knives, spatulas, a digital food thermometer, pastry tips, nails (for making buttercream flowers) and pastry bags, all neatly tucked into a nylon bag (aka a knife roll). The bag unrolls to fit all of the supplies and has pockets to keep things like Pastry tips, bags, dusts, colors and a host of other small supplies. To those items I added a pastry wheel, a pastry brush, measuring spoons, knife guards, and even more pastry tips. School begins this month and I look forward to being on campus. I’ve carefully looked through my textbooks and readers and left Post-Its on the interesting recipes and helpful tips. I will be ready to start school.
